FAQ

  • Are you an Urgent Care Facility?

    • Yes. At this time I am open for Urgent Care needs by same day appointment - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday - 6pm to midnight; Saturday 10am-10pm, Sunday 2pm-10pm. Appointments will be set for as soon as possible, most within the hour, always on the same day.

    • Fee is $125 to include anything that is done at the appointment. Prescriptions, if needed, can be sent to your local pharmacy.

    • Do I have to have a membership to get Urgent Care? - NO, as a physician I am intent on caring for anyone who needs me. But if you are a member your urgent care needs are covered under your membership fees with no extra costs.

  • Can I sit down and visit with you to see if Your Best Health is a good fit for me and my family?

    • Absolutely! We welcome this. You can drop in when we are open on Sunday afternoons or call and schedule a time to sit down and visit about your health goals and how you would like to be cared for. We would love to show you our little clinic, get to know you, and help you see if Your Best Health can serve your needs.

    • How much does that cost? Nothing. You can visit with us in person or by phone without any charge from us. And when you go through the website app to set up an appointment there is no requirement to list a credit/debit card with us.

  • What if I don't want a membership but want to have a one time visit for an acute issue?

    • If you have an urgent care need - rash, ear ache, sore throat, sprains, cut, cough, fever, asthma exacerbation, stomach ache, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, back ache, insect bites, urinary tract infections, vaginitis, and such you are welcome to call for an appointment or stop by on our clinic day.

    • How much does this cost? $125 for the visit including anything that can be done in clinic. Medications can be sent to your pharmacy of choice if needed.

  • If I have insurance or Medicaid or Medicare, why would I want to do this?

    • Access, access, access. Appointments the same day, often within the hour that you call, always seeing the same doctor, not having to tell your story to several people before you get to the doctor. Not having to make separate appointments for separate problems, or family members. No more 5 minute appointments, appointment times are set for the amount of time you need and that time is with your doctor every single time.

    • Your insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare will still pay for your meds, procedures that have to be done elsewhere, specialist care, hospitalization, ER, supplies, just like it does now, the only thing it won't pay for is you time with your doctor. Which means that insurance can't limit that time, can't charge for extra time, and can't limit who comes when.

    • Because you want control over your own care. Because you want to focus on preventative care. Because you want to have your health care decisions in the hands of you and your doctor.

  • What is direct primary care?

    • Direct primary care, DPC, is a clinic model started in the early 2000’s by a group of doctors that wanted to slow down and enjoy medicine, enjoy the care of their patients instead of running from room to room as quickly as possible. This model has grown all across the country and according to the American Academy of Family Physicians, AAFP, is “consistent with the advocacy of the advanced primary care functions and a blended payment method of paying family medicine practices.”

  • What does this change for me as a patient?

    • A few things. First is that appointments will be as long as you need them to take. They will be easier to get, faster to happen, and can also be in person, on the phone or video chat, text messages, at your home, or we can meet in a convenient location when it’s appropriate to do so. Oh and that appointment can be for one member of the family or all the covered members at the same time.

    • Second is that I will never bill you or your insurance company. You will pay one monthly fee for all the services offered. If there is a service that has an extra fee you will know the cost up front, there will never be a surprise bill from Your Best Health or Doctor Ageena.

    • And third, your health is your business. We will never share your health with anyone, even your insurance company, if you don’t request that it be shared. All our records are stored securely and the only people who have access to them are Doctor Ageena and Mark Hass.

  • What if I need surgery, or an MRI, or have to go to the hospital?

    • You will need insurance or a health share plan to cover these things or pay for them with cash. We will do our best to help you negotiate the lowest prices for the services you need that we don’t cover. Dr. Ageena will not have hospital privileges, which means she can’t admit you to the hospital or control your care there, but you will always be our patient and so we will keep in touch with you, see you in the hospital if at all possible, and be your advocate in all your healthcare needs.

  • What if I need to go to the ER or Urgent Care?

    • ER - if you have a serious injury or illness we encourage you to go to the ER, our clinic is not equipped to have the testing and rapid intervention that an ER can give you in an actual emergency.

    • Urgent Care - if you have a minor acute illness or injury you can call us and we can help you decide if that is something we can handle in our clinic or if you need to seek care at the ER. Your urgent need will be addressed in a timely manner to help you avoid the ER if at all possible. There is, of course, no extra charge for this call or for urgent care services with Your Best Health.

  • What if my family is visiting from out of town and one of them becomes ill?

    • Family or friends, who do not have medicare or medicaid, and who are in from out of town and have a healthcare need can be taken care of on a per service basis. For services that are covered for you under your contract with Your Best Health, a family or friend can be seen one time for $125. If they will need more care while they are staying they can sign a short term contract with Your Best Health, waiving the initial exam fee and terminating at the end of their stay.

  • If I call your office, who will be answering the phone?

    • Our phone will be answered by either Dr. Ageena or by Mark, her husband and practice manager.

  • How long will it take to get a call back from your office?

    • Our plan is that you will have one of us answer the phone directly. If you have to leave us a message or text for a call back we will answer within the hour most of the time and always within the day.

  • Is this a health insurance plan?

    • No, this is not a health insurance plan and we would encourage you to maintain a catastrophic plan, or a health share plan for those times when you will need care that is beyond the scope of practice of Your Best Health.

  • What are your clinic hours?

    • Our clinic will be open by appointment Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 6pm to midnight, Saturday 10am-10pm, and Sunday's from 2pm-10pm. But we will also be available by phone 24/7 and will respond and make appointments outside that open clinic time to care for you and your needs.

  • What does it mean that Dr. Ageena is a resident?

    • She has completed 4 years of medical school and nearly 2 years of residency and is a fully licensed physician in the state of Oklahoma and Arkansas. Currently she is continuing to learn and to work for Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah as a Family Medicine Resident. While this will mean that at times her hours will be limited, it also means that her skills and knowledge are constantly growing. During her residency work hours Mark will have the phone and will be able to refill meds, make appointments, answer some questions and forward other questions on to her. He will be able to help you decide if you need to go to the ER or if she will be able to care for your urgent need and will arrange a time for that as soon as she is off of her resident hours that day.

  • Can I join if I have Medicare?

    • Absolutely! As of 12/2/2023 Dr. Ageena Hass is opted out of Medicare.

    • What does that mean for me?

      • If you have medicare she can be your primary care doctor, she will be able to order medications and testing that your medicare will pay for and refer you to specialists. Your medicare coverage will not change even though you will have your primary care with Your Best Health LLC and pay cash for that.

      • Will you bill Medicare? No, and you will not be able to submit bills to medicare for services that Your Best Health LLC and Dr. Ageena Hass perform for you, but you will still receive medicare coverage for testing and treatments outside of this clinic.

  • Is there a long term contract?

    • Not necessarily. Contracts can be written month to month or longer as you desire.

  • Is my membership fee tax deductible?

    • Unfortunately, no, it’s not.

  • I have pre-existing conditions, can I still be a member?

    • Absolutely! At our first visit we will do a thorough history and make sure that you have enough of all of your medications so that you won’t run out during the change from your previous provider.

  • Can you prescribe all my medications?

    • We can prescribe most medications, there are some highly specialized medicines that are restricted to specialist physicians, but we can prescribe all the medications that any other Family Medicine doctor can prescribe for you.

  • Will you prescribe pain medications?

    • Yes, when they are needed for you to function in your day to day life caring for your family and working or when you are in a serious medical state.

  • Will you write for medical marijuana cards?

    • Not at this time.

  • Do you see children?

  • Can I cancel my contract?

    • Yes, you may cancel your contract with written notice when you need to do so.

  • What if I can’t afford to pay cash for my care but I have something to barter?

    • We are open to this conversation and would love to work something out with you.
