FAQ

  • If I have insurance or Medicaid or Medicare, why would I want to do this?

    • Access, access, access. You're sick today, get cared for today! Your doctor will be looking at you, not a computer screen. This is medicine the way it ought to be.

    • Your insurance will cover major things - ER visits, surgeries, MRI, hospitalizations, medications, etc.

  • What is direct primary care?

    • Direct primary care, DPC, is a clinic model started in the early 2000’s by a group of doctors that wanted to slow down and enjoy medicine, enjoy the care of their patients instead of running from room to room as quickly as possible. This model has grown all across the country and according to the American Academy of Family Physicians, AAFP, is “consistent with the advocacy of the advanced primary care functions and a blended payment method of paying family medicine practices.”

  • What if I need surgery, or an MRI, or have to go to the hospital?

    • You will need insurance or a health share plan to cover these things or pay for them with cash. We will do our best to help you negotiate the lowest prices for the services you need that we don’t cover. Dr. Ageena will not have hospital privileges, which means she can’t admit you to the hospital or control your care there, but you will always be our patient and so we will keep in touch with you, see you and your providers in the hospital, and be your advocate in all your healthcare needs.

  • What if I need to go to the ER?

    • ER - if you have a serious injury or illness we encourage you to go to the ER, our clinic is not equipped to have the testing and rapid intervention that an ER can give you in an actual medical emergency.

  • What about Alpha gal

    • Alpha-gal syndrome is a recently identified type of food allergy to mammalian meat, dairy, and by-products. It most often begins with a Lone Star Tick bite and can have a myriad of symptoms from skin rashes to wheezing to headaches to joint pain and many more, some that we didn't realize were related.

    • It is IMPORTANT that your doctor checks all prescribed medications for inactive ingredients that are problematic. This is something that I routinely do with my patients.

    • It is also IMPORTANT that you have good support. This diet is not easy in our American culture and many foods that look safe have ingredients that aren't.

    • I have several patients with Alpha-gal and learn more about it every day, attend webinars, look for lectures, and follow several facebook groups too. If you are looking for a doctor who will support you in this let's visit and see if we are a good fit for each other.

  • What if my family is visiting from out of town and one of them becomes ill?

    • Please bring them for an Urgent Care visit.

  • If I call your office, who will be answering the phone?

    • Dr. Ageena or her husband, Mark. If you reach voice mail, please leave a message and we will get right back to you.

  • How long will it take to get a call back from your office?

    • Within 2 hours, often sooner.

  • Is this a health insurance plan?

    • No, this is not a health insurance plan and we would encourage you to maintain a catastrophic plan, or a health share plan for those times when you will need care that is beyond the scope of practice of Your Best Health.

  • What are your clinic hours?

    • Our clinic will be open by appointment Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 6pm to midnight, Saturday 10am-10pm, and Sunday's from 2pm-10pm. But we will also be available by text/phone 24/7 and will respond and make appointments outside that open clinic time to care for you and your needs.

  • What does it mean that Dr. Ageena is a resident?

    • She is continuing to learn and grown in her skills as a physician. Now in her 3rd year of residency she has taken care of hundreds of patients and continues to care for her panel of patients through Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah daily. She continues to study, find innovative ways to care for people, and seek more education so that she can be of better service to all her patients.

  • Can I join if I have Medicare?

    • Absolutely! As of 12/2/2023 Dr. Ageena Hass is opted out of Medicare.

    • What does that mean for me?

      • If you have medicare she can be your primary care doctor, she will be able to order medications and testing that your medicare will pay for and refer you to specialists. Your medicare coverage will not change even though you will have your primary care with Your Best Health LLC and pay cash for that.

      • Will you bill Medicare? No, and you will not be able to submit bills to medicare for services that Your Best Health LLC and Dr. Ageena Hass perform for you, but you will still receive medicare coverage for testing and treatments outside of this clinic.
